Here's what our Parents and Cadets say:
It's a wonderful opportunity to invest in your future! And if you decide that it's not your thing, there's no pressure to join, just come and shadow.
Ally Vossen, Cadet
I joined this program when I was 10 years old. I had no idea what even to expect. But 7 years later, looking back it was one of the BEST decisions I could've made. It looks great on applications and it's very fun! Now I'm in ROTC and the Sea Cadets prepared me well, I'm a step ahead of everyone!
Samantha Lolo, Sea Cadet
I was a league cadet when I was 11 and when I joined I did not know anybody that were league cadets and turns out I met my best friends. It was the best decision I've made in life so far. All of then friends you make and the memories and experiences you have you won't get outside of this program. By far the best program out there!
Brendan Hawk, Sea Cadet.
I've had two of three kids graduate from the sea cadet program the third one is still active and will be graduating in 2020. My wife and I have only one regret. We regret not knowing about this program sooner. We've been a part of the sea cadets for 10 yrs now and our kids loved every bit of it. I give so much credit to all of the volunteers who give so much of their time and patience to teach these young men and women how to be the best that they can be. I challenge anyone to find a more dedicated division anywhere in the country. I don't have any hard statistics to show but in my opinion Wolverine Division is by far the best division you will ever find.

The Sea Cadets is not only a super cool opportunity to see Navy life in action, it also gives you a chance to learn things about yourself you never knew before, and to grow into the kind of person you want to be. It teaches you skills that can be used in everyday life, and you make lifelong friends along the way! And if you decide to not join, that's okay. Besides, now you know that you were brave enough to attempt something most people cannot do, which is amazing in itself!
Cierra McCaskill, Sea Cadet.
I was a league cadet when I was 10 and I have had nothing but great experiences in the program, it teaches you to value what you have, discipline, makes you stand a little taller and helps you learn all kinds of stuff like how to take care of your uniform or shine boots, scuba dive and a lot more opportunities like working on military vehicles and photography.
Sam Stoepfel, Sea Cadet.
This program was a god sent for my son he use to be really shy and no self esteem now he holds his head up high his teachers and family say how much he has grown and has confidence in him self love this program.
Brandi Alamo, Parent.
Without sounding like a cheesy sales plug, the program is amazing and until you jump in you won't believe how your son or daughter will benefit from this program. We had no desire for our cadet to join any military or any certain career path. We just thought it was a good structure program that would help his self esteem and confidence. The leaders that these cadets have and will become blows my mind. The opportunities alone that our son has experienced over the past couple years are amazing. It's not all roses, but the older cadets really help the younger cadets and the encouragement that all of the adult leaders give to the cadets, it is a wonderful family to be a part of. We have a eight year old and he can't wait till he is old enough to join the program as well.

Our journey with this program started over ten years ago. My son, Logan, started as a Navy League cadet and worked his way up to become a USNSCC Chief Petty Officer. When Logan started we were not sure how far this journey would take him, but ten years later I can tell you it was and has been an amazing trip! This program provides such a good foundation for these young men and women. It has helped him be more confident, know the definition of what hard work is and having a good work ethic means, promotes positivity, community service, responsibility, dedication, and overall just how to be kind and polite! As my son made his way through the many lessons and trainings, I began to notice a change. He was developing good study skills, learning how to listen, how to communicate with people beyond his peers, becoming more independent, learning to be more flexible and having the ability to adapt, but most importantly, I saw a young man who respected and appreciated others. As the years have passed, Logan has had the opportunity to work with and be guided by some of the best role models any parent would want for their child.
Not only did Logan end up being a Chief, but he also was awarded a USNSCC scholarship and won several others totaling in the tens of thousands of dollars. Logan would not have received those other scholarships without having the background of this program. I can tell you first hand that my son did well because this program helped prepare him and made him stand out amongst other scholarship candidates. I am also very proud to say that my son's experience with the Wolverine Division is what prompted him to want to continue to serve as an adult volunteer with the Wolverine Division. Proudly he volunteers and holds the title of Midshipman. He would not ever have done this if it weren't for the role models he had in the instructors and officers of the Wolverine Division. And, while he may not always be able to make it to drill due to his responsibilities at college, he does his very best. As he knows how important it is to be there to help support these cadets.
By far, the Wolverine Division and the officers he's had before, all have played a major role in my son's life and I will forever be grateful! So yes, it is a very worthwhile program and one I think everyone should take the time to check out!
